The Old Tennis Court Farm operates as a collaborative effort: in addition to caring for their own plots, members share in the upkeep of the entire garden and property as a whole. Given that everyone involved is a volunteer, it is essential that gardeners embrace these elements.

Garden members commit 8 hours a season of communal service, which includes work like weeding common areas, mowing the lawn, tending the compost, picking up trash, snow removal, website maintenance, and garden management. Many members are involved in our community harvest program, which sets aside plots for growing fresh, organically grown produce to donate to local organizations in Germantown.

Our community is a warm and supportive group of new and seasoned gardeners alike. We put an emphasis on the word "community" — it's important for the longevity of the garden that members talk to one another, participate in social events, and contribute their time and energy wherever they can. All levels of gardeners are welcome (those new to gardening often tap the expertise of more seasoned members), as are children of all ages.

Most garden plots measure 12 ft. x 12 ft. with a few 12 ft. x 6 ft. half-plots occasionally available.
